Without over complicating things you might want to try and work out if you have a puma or earlier roof. Broadly I think that if your alpine lights are in a slightly recessed pressing it’s a puma roof, or without them it’s from a TD5 or 300tdi etc. knowing what the roof was originally from will determine the correct seals.
Along with the window recess, If the roof has pressed ‘rails’ in it, it’s from a Puma, or spot welded top hats on the inside it’s from a TD5 or earlier (I think). Phot is from my 2012 90. Click image to enlarge This will give you some idea of the age of your roof and thus what chassis number it’s likely to have come from. If you have pressed rails in the roof (Puma) but no recess for the alpine lights / windows it may still be a Puma roof that’s had the Alpine lights retrofitted. I guess most significantly Alpine glass comes in 4 or 5mm thickness, and the rubber seals match that, although tbh I’m not sure it makes much difference to how they seal, but could be wrong…. Not sure if there is a part number on the glass to help your work out ot thickness and so what seals to order. Advice seems to be that it’s worth spending the money on original Landrover seals…. |

Getting my roof sprayed on the 90 TD5. Assume the earlier vehicles had thinner glass? Or maybe I am wrong and they did things cheaper as production went on! 1951 80" S1 2.0
