Anti roll bar links replacement
Hi all,

I fitted a Britpart anti roll bar (front & rear) approx 18 months ago on my TD5, but it's sat in storage for a bit of time. I've just been checking on it and found that all anti roll bar links dust covers have split or showing early signs of perishing.

Very strange to see as mileage covered was not too much maybe 5-800miles (chassis was washed before storage).

I wonder if I could have caused this by improper tightening etc, or perhaps the items were defective in quality.

In any case, can anybody recommend replacements that are compatible with britparts ARB?

Thank you!

That is just the quality of Britpart rubber. It just doesn’t last.

I can’t say for sure if they’re compatible, but you can get PU boots for ball joints. Gwyn Lewis sells them, as I’m sure others do too. Donald

Yes totally respect that Britpart can be hit and miss. Clearly something went astray very quickly and well I just never crawled under it to check.

Hoping to get it back on the road and get it on its way for the MOT, presumably these will be advisories for being split and not fails. Regardless, nice to get it sorted with quality replacements.

Thanks for suggestion on Gwyn Lewis, that could be a solution indeed, will have to give them a call and find out.

For the MoT you can always take the anti-roll bars off altogether, since not all models had them. It can't fail on them if they're not there.

Thank you all, as always super helpful!

Could remove it but I know it'd just fall down the list of priorities before it was ever put back on again.

Now I just need to order and action this Laughing Hopefully not long until it can be free again

Actually I am looking at installing anti roll bars on my 110 and was doing some armchair research. Looked that the Britpart kit, which needs adjusting for the 110 for hole bracket at the back.

Alternatively you can just buy all the parts and select the quality for each. Found that you can get something much nicer for only a little less more:

Joint Delphi with boot and bushing £12.32 4 £49.28
Galvanised bracket front (2 hole) £18.00 1 £18.00
Stainless bolt set frnt (4 bolt) £5.50 1 £5.50
Stainless bolt set aft (8 bolt) £9.00 1 £9.00
Galvanised bracke back (4 hole) £18.00 1 £18.00
Bushing oem fwd £3.98 2 £7.96
Bushing oem aft £3.98 2 £7.96
Anti roll bar front (BP?) £73.38 1 £73.38
Anti roll bar rear (BP?) £79.42 1 £79.42
Stainless pin kit £9.00 4 £36.00

Total £304.50

Britpart kit £251.52 1 £251.52
Rear clamps standard 4 bolt £4.00 2 £8.00
Bushing oem aft £3.98 2 £7.96
Boot kit (est) £2.00 4 £8.00

Total £275.48

Thanks Texasrover Thumbs Up

It seems prices have changed slightly over the time since I ordered my kit for the 90 sometime ago, which is probably why I never looked much further.

1 x Anti Roll Bar Kit (Britpart) STC8156AA £149.99

2 x Anti Roll Bar Clamp Rear Def 90 XA159807 Onwards EGP1661L £22.66

2 x Anti Roll Bar Mounting Bush Rear 90 98- (Britpart) EGP1889 £3.98

+ VAT

I wonder if its inflation or if the quality has increased Rolling with laughter
