What non-LR product would you consider and why?

The new Land Cruiser.

I'm planning on getting the new 2024 Toyota Landcruiser J250 next year, but I'm also keeping my 110 Puma.
But I guess if I had the LC and was going to get rid of the 110 then I'd probably buy a 90's 911 ![]() Hmmmm, that's now got me thinking ![]() |

Probably a VW California or T5 or similar VW converted camper - has the space and practicality of a defender with out the off roading capability - popular vehicle with lots of spares available
![]() Elgar -TDCI(Puma) 110XS Dormobile - now sold Devon & Cornwall 4x4 Response - DC126 ![]() |

Early Mercedes g-class. 1980s. More engine options. Would go for a long wheelbase though

I have a 200tdi 90 and Td5 Discovery 2 as my daily drivers. There is not a single modern car that interests me which could be a problem given the increase in low emission zones etc.
I think I could be convinced to buy some sort of pickup (Toyota etc) but that isn't the best thought so I'll carry on as I am for now. As I understand it, many are limited to commercial vehicle speed limits on the motorway so that is a negative but would give some offroad and towing capabilities. ![]() ![]() |

Thanks all - it's refreshing to hear some ideas beyond an X5..
Surprised there's no Ineos mentions yet.. Taking a look at the Landcruiser - it certainly does fit the bill pretty well. Or possibly the Lexus GX? |

Downsizing and de-cluttering, I'm afraid...
I'm selling the boat so no longer need a truck; the Defender is in any case obsolescent if not already obsolete (old ones usable in less and less cities and new ones soon-to-be uninsurable) and will have to go. I haven't used the Morgan for six months and it will be got rid of in Spring. Although my intention was to buy the cheapest ICE car while they're still legal, those that used to be reasonable (Dacia, Up! or Polo etc.) have shot up to ridiculous prices. SUCH a pity that the Ford Everest isn't marketed in Europe, the Toyota suggested here certainly seems an option. If it's TOO popular, though, they'll do a "Jimny" and pitch it as expensive as a New Defender! Peter |

Pickups are not restricted on motorways. If taxed as light goods vehicles max speed is 50 on single carriageways and 60 on dual carriageways. |

As above
Light Commercial Vehicles such as Defenders can do 70mph on motorways. |
