Duratrac or All Terrain?
I've the opportunity to acquire a set of virtually new Duratrac Tyres and change from the Goodyear All Terrains I've currently got.

I would use either set above mainly as Off-Road and, in Winter, visits to ski resorts in the Alps.

What are the pros and cons with changing to Duratracs c/w the ATs?

In summer I'll be using the Continental x-Contact Tyres when not off-roading.

Japan
I do not believe the Duratrac tyres are 3 peak mountain snowflake certified, but just 'M+S' (mud and snow). I have the ATs which are M+S.
The Duratracs are a superior offroad tyre but I've not read that they are a 'good' or better tyre for winter use.

I would caution you using those tyres in the winter especially on conditions up and down the ski resort mountain. They do not have as many sipes and in harsher conditions will not give you the confidence you want.

I personally use winter tyres (by that I mean studless tyres) during the winter months here in Japan as I go up and down the resorts every other week. 22MY Defender 110 D300 S in Pangea Green and Contrast White Roof
