Pass the word. The Corwen Car Wash is impassable due to flood waters and a HUGE tree submerged across the ford.
This will need to be removed before anyone can safely ford the river. If it is the tree I am thinking of it will be at least 40cm in diameter and about 8-10m long. You will not be able to bump over it. Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge |

Sadly that (chopping it up for firewood) is theft and unlikely to enhance the reputation of the AWD community. |

Well... It is still impassable, the tree is proper wedged across the ford and now the water level has dropped a little you can see it is not a sapling...

The ford is still impassable and the tree has not been lifted and moved by the newest rise in water levels...
Avoid this ford for the foreseeable people... It might be of interest to those of you in Wales or visiting Wales that NRW publish almost live data for river levels, rainfall and tide levels. It is a very handy resource if you are green laning or camping and need to cross a river or two. https://rivers-and-seas.naturalresources.w...6766+27700 This is it today, almost over-topping the road... Oh dear, there really is very little hope for the human race! Yet people wonder why 4x4s on unsurfaced roads are unpopular and controversial.
Clearly a quality job fitting the snorkel to that Disco, which makes me think that the driver did it himself. |

Some of the other videos posted on that YT account are even more depressing. If this is representative then the day when all unmetalled ROW are closed to vehicles cannot be far away.

No kidding... ROW access is doomed and to be honest I would welcome it. You cannot stop Moz (guy in the drowned Disco) and his mates shredding the countryside and other peoples property. I absolutely love driving the lanes, but it is a depressing notion that some of the land traversed by green lanes have incredibly vulnerable ground. Some places will recover in a few seasons, maybe a decade or so, but others (such as at the top of the Wayfarer) have taken thousands of years to develop only to be spun out by trail bikes and jungle trekker faux Timex tyres such as those fitted to Moz's Disco.
The drowned and offending article... The amount of oil spewing out of this Disco was ridiculous (as it happens also picked up on its last MOT...) and the perfect evidence that NRW, the Council and local interest group needs to pressure the TRO of this ford and others in the region. I joke not... The outcome was not as bad as the below failure to engage the common sense engine, but it was close... Click image to enlarge Here is another shorter clip of the incident... https://www.youtube.com/shorts/W2yyAjeILX4 Incredibly lucky the engine died where it did and not 3m further on where the current is at its strongest... Next stop Llangollen... or the pearly gates... |

The issue is, you can’t take a standard height defender/disco etc down most of these lanes anymore anyway. The 33” tyres and lift or more have made ruts ridiculously deep. 2008 2.4 110 Utility Station Wagon XS.

I'll echo the response What a F£"^£(NG Idiot. All the lot of them. Whilst it isn't all of them, There is a very defined group of people who have a D2 (presumably all the RRC's and D1's have now A) rotted or B) really tidy and too expensive) a lift kit, 285 insa turbo's, a Portuguese Pirate Pop corn remap, and no common sense. It isn't socially accepted to tear arse around the ROW network like this and sadly when it's banned and TRO's and simple declassification of routes they will continue as they don't have TW2, a clue or frankly give a damm. It's the similar oik who are prime suspects for the litter left over the wayfarer as previously reported. I live in a village that is a bit of through route between greenlanes and Trail bikes and Cheap disco's (vitara, jimny ETC) come up the hill at a fair rate of knots and it is just another nail in the ROW coffin. Yes technically no law is broken, it just isn't giving the right image. Also can be found on Fb, Ytube, Insta & Twitter @4WDSouthwest |
