Adaptive speed limiter
Can someone explain how this system works on their defender as I think I'm going to go insane, it's not like this on any other LR we have

Do you have to enable it on this menu every session eg every time to start the car?

Anyone before the dreaded trip back to the dealer, to be told that’s how it works Mike

If you are enabling in the Pivi menu then it should be a "saved" option. Ours is disabled due
to the inherent number of School Zone time of day restrictions and "advised limits" for
bends and such like.. it has always remained "off" so assume if you set it to on, it should
stay that way when you start the vehicle. yet another pommie bar steward down under

Thanks thats helpful and exactly how the disco works, except the disco, once enabled on Privi you actually cycle through adaptive cruise, adaptive speed and normal speed limiter...but same principle.

The dealer say you had to enable it each time...but i could tell the service guy was trying to fob me off - thats what they are trained for, hence checking this time before i go back

thanks Thumbs Up Mike

Sounds like by pressing the can button for 3 seconds it will select adaptive speed limiter?

It only works if the traffic sign recognition system is operating. Have you checked that it is switched on?

Thanks all

when enabled it works (although the traffic sign is a good point), but the steering wheel button does not turn it on unless ive gone into the privi setting menu first, thats then required each time i restart the car

I have got to try the 3 second press as suggested

On the discovery you enable on the privi menu once in the vehicle life then its set and never go in again

if that makes sense Mike

You won’t keep it on for long! Mine slows me down to 20mph when passing junctions, if the sign is visible from the main road. Dangerous IMO. 2021 Defender 110 X-Dynamic HSE D300 MHEV

Admittedly i use adaptive cruise more, but speed limiter i use it all the time, it works now - i just have to go through 3 or 4 steps to get it on for the journey.

When working its great, the only issue i have had was not detecting the smart motorway, so not dropping my speed.

Just for information, if you push the accelerator to the floor it will auto over-ride the speed Mike

Took it for a spin today and the only way to get it on was to go into the master privi menu and turn Adaptive on, then the steering wheel button turned it on, otherwise its just toggling between cruise and normal speed limited.

They will have to have it back for another time Mike

Yes, just toggles between cruise and normal limiter, until you enable it in the menu each drive.

Not like the disco that then allows you to go between each option Mike

Just tried this on a journey and got it to work…

Click + to set a speed and then the top right button to toggle from Limiter to Cruise.

Then, to move from fixed cruise into adaptive cruise, press and hold the gap adjuster button. Carpathian Grey 110 D300 HSE
