Defender battery completely flat. Key will not turn in door
Big Cry
Well this is just classic defender ownership.
I haven't used my defender for about 2 months. It needed new brakes so I parked it up. Various illness in family and one thing and another this is the 1st bit of time to look at it.

Battery is flat so fob won't work.
Key feels like it maybe won't go all the way in the door barrel.
I have sprayed wd40 down the barrel in desperation and lubed up the key with silicon.
Still won't turn at all.
Is there a way of getting some charge into the vehicle from underneath?
So before I start smashing Windows.
Any better ideas would be greatly appreciated Laughing

I am having dark thoughts about hilux's and rangers Rolling Eyes

Thanks Caterham, you guessed correct mine is a pick up with ladders and a flatbed on the back.
After many hours cursing I am in!
In case this happens to anyone else it turned out to be the actual barrel case being seized in the plastic door handle!!?
Any way I have freed it off now and stuck her on charge. Looks like she will get her new brakes after all Laughing
