Looking forward to a review on here when someone actually takes delivery of one !!

l think it looks great, apart from the humongous front bumper. But l assume aftermarket options will appear in due course.

l may order the five seat Commercial version if the figures work. But the govt tax incentive on new Commercial Vehicles ends next month.

It will be interesting to see how the reliability of the Grenadier compares to the reliability of the current Defender models and the JLR brand in general. It will also be interesting to see how INEOS handle warranty problems and problems in general. 1982 88" 2.25 diesel

I am looking forward to seeing the general public perception of these when they hit the road. I think it has to fall firmly into an enthusiast camp.

Although I've not seen the anticipated prices of them, but wonder if they'll be adopted for any sorts of fashion/ current trend factor.

Good on them anyhow for sticking with the project throughout

I am wondering if they will be taken up by NGOs and Plant Hire firms like the original Defender...

Well Censored that. He had a 1994 Defender that would only do 40mph and 6mpg... Talk about talking utter rubbish... Rolling Eyes

Unless they are unlucky, I'd have thought it should be good. The vehicle on the whole seems to be massively over engineered. Which should be good for reliability and durability.

They have also had a very open and transparent development cycle with lots of media and potential customer involvement. So it looks like they have done their testing and due diligence at the design stage.

It is also being built in a modern factory with an experienced workforce.

Obviously only time will tell though.

Shame they only do Automatic. I see that's what the market wants but it's not what i would want. With such a manly image an manual option would not be out of place..

Well there is someone who likes the sound of his own voice! Shame he has nothing worthwhile to say (or maybe I missed it in the torrent of drivel)!

Looks like they are getting off to a good start with braided brake lines.

I'd prefer a transmission brake rather than one on the rear hubs, but I could live with the latter.

They probably wouldn't admit it, bit I reckon they essentially had no choice. I think they would have wanted to offer a manual if they reasonably could. That BMW engine was not available with a manual until very recently I don't think. Certainly still isn't in the bigger/heavier sort of application this is. I think BMW have subsequently introduced a manual connected to that engine for the Supra/Z4, but that's probably not heavy duty enough for this application. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

Yes that does look a little vulnerable doesn't not...

Interesting though... Floating calipers rather than individual pots like the original Defender. So instead of rusting pistons owners will have to keep those slides clean and greased.

The B58 petrol engine was available with a manual in 2016 / 2017 in the M240i coupe before it became auto only, not sure if the manual was in other cars at that time. As with the Supra, it wasn't a heavy duty application.
For the majority of the Grenadier's development time an off the shelf manual wasn't available.
