Keepers of the faith,
I’m going down the well worn path of trying to eliminate the old diesel clatter. After reading up on here I took a punt and disconnected the cylinder head temperature sensor and boom!, no diesel clatter and a very happy 110. So my question is, is the iffy sensor fooling the computer into over fuelling, especially when cold and will a new sensor be the answer? Thanks Wes Oh woe, oh woe My crusty old landrover, It will not go. |

Yeah, considering the price I’m going to shove a new one in there anyway and see how that works out and I’ll report back

Success! A new sensor, and we’re good to go.
No clatter, less smoke on start up and she seems to be fuelling okay (I think) So yeah a nice easy fix, now to sort the central locking, adjust the door shuts, adjust the hand brake and about 600 other things Oh woe, oh woe My crusty old landrover, It will not go. |

It's real easy to find, there is a grey plug at the back of the rocker cover, follow it down a few inches and X marks the spot. And no, you do not need a computer update.

Makes me laugh 10 minute job, real easy, etc etc.
That’s a big lump of engine standing between you, the car’s wide body parts, and a small gap between the engine and bulkhead. How on earth do you reach it (without removing the bonnet and laying across the engine |
