When I did it I needed bowls and motors both sides plus the switch. The headlight rings themselves are the same... The motor adjusts where the original screw locates. The motors are the same as used in classic mini which you can get quite cheaply.
The wiring was present behind the dash and on the nearside but missing on the offside so it would be worth your while to whip out the headlights and check whether the connector is there. I replaced the offside sub loom from bulkhead connector to headlight with one I picked one up from eBay. All works great > 110 XS Double Cab |

Do you mean retro-fitting this to a car which had no part of the installation - i.e. no loom, switch, motor, bowl? In my case a 1994 SW. Donald 1994 Defender 300Tdi 110 SW - owned since 2002 - 230k miles and going strong (The 'rolling restoration' or tinkering thread: http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic58538.html ) 2000 Range Rover P38 4.0L V8 in the past.. RR classic - fitted with 200Tdi 1984 RR classic - V8 with ZF auto box 1993 Discovery 300Tdi not to mention the minis and the Type 2 VW camper... |

I now have the Motors, Bowls and switch
Simple question Does the motor attach at the base ? Have seen one video showing it there The adjustment screws are at 9 and 12 o'clock, with a fixing screw at about 4:30 So what does the adjuster push against ? Cant find any photos of one fitted |

So if the motor pulls the headlight in from the base - the top must move out - do I remove the top adjuster screw ? |

The adjusters should be at 9 o'clock and 6 o'clock, with the motor shaft doubling as the latter. Darren

Yes both connectors were there - but well hidden after 17 years
All installed and all works perfectly - a great and simple improvement All genuine LR parts used and cost £150 - although I can claim the £30 VAT back It would have only added about £100 to the original build so why LR did not fit these as standard ????? Because they never worked. Had them in my 90 & 110 neither worked and wasnt worth the cost to replace imo.

Probably for the same reason they didn't fit headlamp washers as standard. |

If you had a factory fitted BBUS it is possible that on the NS LR used a "Td5 specification" wing harness, which had all the connectors.
