If it is pre-CNC it is almost certainly of interest only to the home workshop or occasional user. If it is pre-DRO it is of limited interest even to that category now.
There are dealers, but private sales through forums, eBay, and FB marketplace are probably as good a method as any. As with most commodities (perhaps other than cars) sold to a dealer, expect around 1/3rd of the apparent market value if selling to a dealer. Sadly many old machine tools are worth more as scrap than as tools. |

Appreciate your reply BW.
The big mill does have some sort of digital display attached to it (so perhaps this puts it in the DRO category), but it's certainly all Pre CNC. The guy who lived there was well into his 90s and (from what I can tell) and the machinery and workshop have been there for at least 30 years, probably longer. I've got a picture or two on my phone from one of the viewings, I'll load up to show you what I mean. I'll also start joining some Facebook groups and forums! Cheers Jon |

Over the years I have seen various machinery sold on mig-welding.co.uk forum. Maybe worth a look on there - not sure on the etiquette for joining just to sell? 1999 Defender TD5 110

Thanks I'll have a look.
Ironically welding is one area that I'll probably be doing more of. While I'll never be a machinist (and therefore these machines are well above my needs), I'm quite lilkey to get back into car welding and restoration when I have the time. Appreciate the point on joining to sell though, it never looks good! Maybe if I'm luck someone will offer to swap me a decent welder for another machine Last edited by jpboost on 10th Jan 2023 3:46pm. Edited 1 time in total |

It'd be good to see some pictures. I have many friends who have workshops who are always on the look out for kit. I might be interested in the milling machine.
Sadly, whilst the quality of the older machinery is very good, its value now doesn't reflect its quality. Have a look at some the hobby engineering groups on Facebook and gauge interest there. |

Thanks All,
A couple of pics here for interest. I'll let you know how I get on, and advertise properly once I know what it all is! Cheers Jon Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge |

I have to say that they are large for a home workshop, sadly probably too large for most which, together with the 3PH requirement, may limit their appeal. The mill has DROs (good selling point), I can't tell from the photo if the Edgewick has. They look in excellent condition.
What's the centre distance and swing over the bed of the lathe? It is possible that something like a heritage railway might be interested (although as a rule they have little money). |

I know someone who'd snap that off you almost certainly probably and can move it (only has a 50tm HIAB available to him).

I’m suffering from house envy if it comes with that lot and a workshop. |
