Breast High Road.
Hope this is posted in the correct section. I saw this on another board and thought it worthwhile passing it on. Thumbs Up

Cumbria CC have inspected Breast High Road and are putting an Emergency TRO on the grounds of "safety" for users with no plans to re open until they have the money to repair it. A TRO that bans only vehicles.

They are claiming it's safe to use on a mountain bike or a horse or foot even though there are some big loose rock sections created by water mostly but unsafe in a Land Rover at walking pace! Evil or Very Mad

This is clearly incorrect at an almost comical level. I'm not belittling mountain bikers or walkers. I am on after all.

If it is so unsafe as they claim to use it then ALL users should be restricted from using it.

May I strongly suggest that many people need to point this lunacy out to this poor unsuspecting gentleman:

Rob.Lawley@cumbria.gov.uk

Many Thanks

Just seen this. I've emailed the rangers I know to ask about it. I was up there recently and it was fine - the top corner is tricky but approached with care it isn't a problem.

Ok, the reply is that the plan is to repair it in the spring and the rangers have requested the funding to do so.

Its happened because as usual, some total tw@ts have bypassed the corner and gone onto the farmers land. He's quite rightly complained about it, hence the rangers have reported it and the council has acted. It's totally fair enough if you ask me.

btw, a temporary TRO can only be in force for 18 months maximum.
