Thought about speakers but not sure what to do about that.
Got the mountain bike in, still need to take the front wheel off but but putting it in backwards it fitted perfectly. Used ratchet straps to keep it upright, rear wheel rested on the back of the cubby box, job done. |

Any idea of just how much more space you have at the front?

from the back of my drivers seat (I am 5 11) to the rear door is 1400mm with the bulkhad in it was about 1200mm. So much lighter than with the bulkhead in and accessable from the front as well.

Do you think it’s possible to remove the bulkhead, chop the upper half off, and then refit the bottom, and have it looking vaguely reasonable, rather like like an old school Defender bulkhead? Would the fixings allow this? |

I think that might be a challenge, the bulkhead is a layer of the thick plastic either side with a steel frame inside. I think most of the support for it come from the grab handle mounts either side and some brackets to connect them to the bulkhead. I cant remember what was securing it lower down but I dont see any obvious bolt holes (just had a quick look)

There may be an insurance issue with removing the bulkhead from a Commercial Vehicle. lt's worth asking your insurance company, you don't want to find out after an accident that it's invalidated your insurance
