Looks like the standard Discovery/RRC 3.9/4.2 MA on cowling, similar part was used on the NAS and Aniversary 4.0L Defenders too ESR3226

It does look slightly further back, the cowling only just clears the alternator when the engine is in the correct position. Is your gearbox/transfer box on the correct V8 mounting brackets?

If you still suffer with hot running, try some water wetter depending on what you're running in terms of coolant, 50/50 water (distilled preferred) and water wetter will help.
The radiator does a lot of cooling for the engine coolant, oil and if an auto the transmission cooler. |

100% check your fan, should lock up at first start, then the centrifcal forces, slowly open the clutch to free spin.
Also check the blade for any cracks, when they let go, they go! I had a blade come of my D1 v8, safe to say it shock the car, still got me home, viscous fan was still good, but replaced it, checked the water pump at the same time and replaced that, because of the cavitation damage. Also replaced the radiator with a high flow radiator from GM Radiators, honestly never looked back. I’d highly recommend the kit from Revtec… we were once sat on the A55 in a jam and it was 27degC outside…and that was after the climb..if it can handle that…. It also gets hammered around a track and gets used in scatter rally events.
