[For Sale] Billet aluminium door hinge sets
I’ve got 3 complete sets of billet aluminium door hinges available. These were part of a batch made for me and are now surplus to requirements.

Each set contains front door hinges, second row door hinges, rear door hinges, stainless security bolts and a full set of gaskets. All of the hinges are hard anodised satin black.

Looking around the major manufacturers online, prices seem to average out at £975 incl VAT for a comparable set. As such, I’m looking for £800 per set. I do also have a few spare individual hinges if anyone was to need any for whatever reason.

Any questions, let me know.

Ross

Am I asking too much then? Thought these would have moved by now. No use to me as I don’t have a defender anymore so happy to listen to offers…

I think that people are/were cautious of the mini budget that has just been released.
For a keeper vehicle I think they are priced about right.

Please don't take this the wrong way but I think it's a lot of money for something of unproven quality. If you were to buy from a company such as Optimill then you have the reassurance of a company to complain to should something go wrong. Buying something expensive from an individual is inherently more of a risk, unfortunately. Darren

As LRAnorack...

I agree

I could be tempted but un proven, and who do I contact if I need help?

If you do compare with Optimil for example

https://www.optimill-uk.com/front-door-security-hinges-110.html

Door hinges £625

https://www.optimill-uk.com/rear-door-hinges-set-of-3.html

Rear door hinges £260

Total £885 and I have a contact, spares, etc..... (warranty)?

Not disputing the quality of yours but its a lot potentially?

Thumbs Up

Fair points that I hadn’t considered I suppose. These were made by Red Winches for me - they already make almost identical items for a few of the aftermarket Defender upgrades companies, complete with their branding. I have a significant amount of spares here for them and would be happy to include whatever I can with the full sets. There would be no warranty from Red Winches and they are not connected to this sale, but then I hear the warranty from a few of the other suppliers isn’t worth a great deal anyway Confused

Oh, and the optimill prices you quote don’t include hardware which my kits do.

All good points - just to add my tuppence worth, I’ve known Ross for many years, possibly longer than he would like to consider.

I’m not being rude or inappropriate to suggest that he’s ‘meticulous’ over pretty much everything… no matter if it’s a Land Rover, a trailer or the garden shed (which was winched onto the trailer… different story…), it will be ‘best in show’ every time.

These hinges will be worth every penny - he’s a good egg!

I would also be up for a rear set (as long as they worked with the ore carrier) so we need a couple of people that have 130's and don't need a rear door set JST Smile Searching for my first Defender...and started just as Covid hit, so talk about timing.

5 months after starting the search I found it, and here is the details

Not used to having people say nice things about me… Rolling Eyes

I’ll be home tomorrow for a couple of days so I’ll have a proper look through what extras I’ve got over and above the full sets and then we can see what’s in the realms of the possible. Happy to mix and match for the likes of the 130 + 90 rear door but clearly I’m keen to avoid just being left with a load of 2nd row door hinges…
