It's growing on me I have to say.
I don't see it as a defender but more sierra becomes mondeo ? (or may be more spitfire becomes harrier jump jet)? if you know what I mean.... |

Are you trying to wind up the doom mungers Andrew
I love it - why because it is a concept vehicle and concept vehicles are designed to evoke debate. Only thing missing for me is the ability to hover, but i am sure that this will be on the next version of the concept Please wake me up in a few years time when the black and white mules start to be seen on the road then we will have a better understanding of what the final version will be like. Mean while - we wait Mark |

Mean while I catch myself looking at mine with the loving eye of a collector. It will never be the same again... As with many other big boy's toys. I don't think this is done by chance. It's done on purpose, and they proceed remarkably "well". Mike. |

Nah, I just like mine even more than before, and feel sorry for the youngsters now who will never be able to own a new Defender, even if the new concept inherits the name... 2011 110 USW

And by extension "Grav Rover" becomes "Grave Robber" - if they try and bury the Defender we will bring it back to life Tell someone you love them today because life is short. But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing... |

I personally don't really care what replaces the Defender as I have the one I want just now. And I intend to keep it until it dies in 20+ odd years or so. And is it just me who believes that the defender in its current guise will be here for a long time yet, albeit Tata will have shipped the machinery out to India to produce it for rest of world sales. The biggest hurdle apart from the EU is the cost of labour to build a defender in the UK something they can do for a lot less in India. It may be wishful thinking on my part but I cant personally see Tata scrapping the current guise of defender as it is so rugged and sells well throughout the world. Then hopefully in 20+ years or so I can buy one and import it to the UK and rebuild my defender from its bits.

Mine has to last another 40 years or so - then I'll be dead or senile and won't care Tell someone you love them today because life is short.
But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing... |
