When pulling away on a hill, I actually managed to have a fabulous 99.9 ltr/km coming up. Glad JLR limited the numbers to 2+1 digits.... Whistle
But once on the go, consumption is similar or even better than towing with classic v8 RR/Def. Having done 7k miles, I can happily say a P525 isn't as bad on fuel as people would think. m

Hi Andrew, What were you towing? My D300 manages 23 mpg with the caravan in tow. To be honest, your not doing so bad there!
I let it get down to 5 miles range remaining yesterday. Filled it with normal derv, £160 😬 2021 Defender 110 X-Dynamic HSE D300 MHEV

Seems really good to me, we managed a bit less than that on the french autoroute in September over a similar distance, but the average speed was 89mph.!

Overall fuel was around 21mpg, not tried towing with our trailer on the back yet.

Your consumption both towing and not seem pretty good to me. Haven't towed with mine yet but overall consumption over 4k miles is 21.2. Worst tankful was 18.2, mostly urban, best was 23.3 and was mostly European motorways with little traffic, unlike ours!

I'm pleasantly surprised at the consumption so far, maybe it will improve a little as everything loosens up with more miles.

Interesting figures those, especially the d300. My 4.4 V8 diesel RRS gets around 35mpg on the motorway and about 28mpg when towing a twin axle tilt bed car transporter with about 1.5t on it. It’s super impressive with the amount of torque but would be interested in how it compares with the new defender.

Wow I'm impressed with the v8 consumption to be honest!

I can get as little as 20mpg on a fast run towing with my p400e PHEV, although admittedly I am running BFG KO2s and a snorkel (although I do get 3 figure MPGs too on shorter journeys so swings & roundabouts!)

Really glad LR made the v8 and that people are buying them...! Cheers, David

Just got back with my 90 and it was showing 26.8mpg towing our caravan.
18 doesn’t seem to bad but then I’m not paying to fill it up Laughing

Did our first tow recently, 1900kg twin axle caravan.
It was ok, but I felt she was revving quite high and holding on to gears longer than expected.
A very different experience to the Disco 4 SDV6, but she was stable, relatively nimble considering and comfortable.
Wasn’t expecting much better than what we got fuel economy-wise, it’s a fairly hilly route, but I’m not disappointed.
Overall happy with it!

That looks remarkably good to me.

I know the route well, we have family who live in Connel, an average of 40mph along the A85 and round Glasgow means you were not driving slowly. !

Not towed anything with ours at all, but solo, we regularly get around 23mpg on UK motorways.

I was quite impressed with the average speed to be fair, however I was keeping to the limits for towing and had a pretty clear run with minimal traffic.
Our van is kept on a seasonal pitch in North Ledaig, which is just 2 hours from home, it's usually there for winter as well but had to go back to the dealer for warranty work.
Connel is a cracking spot, as soon as we see that bridge we can feel the stresses drain away.
We love to sit in the Lochnell Arms beer garden and watch the Falls of Lora, could watch it all day at all states of the tide, mesmerising! Current Garage...
