Cubby box sizes
Evening all!

A quick question, did cubby boxes come in different sizes? I'm looking to install one of the slimline Alpine amps on the back but it would restrict foot space for the middle passenger... My fault for having 3 children!! Laughing

Some of the pictures I've seen seem to have them further forward than others.

Many thanks,

Jon

Yes, those factory fitted with the Alpine sub are shorter than standard ones. Darren

Can you not put it under the second row seats?

Top left is a genuine subwoofer cubby, you can identify them by the side section of the box where it transitions from the cup holder to the front face of the box - the factory fitted subwoofer cubbys have a slightly protruding lip.

You just have to buy all six to get it!

It's probably also worth noting that the factory subwoofer is noticeably thicker than the aftermarket subwoofer. The reason being that the aftermarket Alpine sub has the crossover and its controls separate, while the factory unit does not.

Factory sub:

Aftermarket Alpine:

Aftermarket Alpine sub mounted on to a non-sub cubby that is mounted a few inches rearward due to the parking-heater box underneath:

Thanks Angus_Beef, that's definitely worth knowing. Thanks to the tip on how to spot one from Oldowner I have found one, just waiting for confirmation it's still available!

Using the slimmer version and sub cubby would be a good combo Thumbs Up
