I use a pair of angled adjustable water pump pliers.
Re the clutch bite 1/2" above the floor, I had exactly the same problem after having a new clutch fitted. Yeovil LR had to call Land Rover in to fix it. Basically, there is an adjustment to the rod mechanism that was not in the dealer manuals. It is the same adjustment that is made on TD5's to change the bite position. Edit - just found the TD5 procedure, basically the same on the Puma. One thing I looked at and you could check if you want to move the position is the clutch pedal position adjustment. If you take a look just below the coolant container you will find a square box with six x head screws and a switch bracket attached. Undo the six screws and move away the switch bracket, you'll find a nyloc nut on one end of a thread and two half, lock nuts on the top end. depending on which way you need to go, either lengthen or shorten the stroke by losening and moving the nuts,check the pedal for "grab" position and tighten up when happy. Be careful when putting the plate back on as there is a rubber seal. The bottom lefthand screw is a bit of a pain to get at but it can be done using a rachet type screw bit. They should be able to call up the details of what was done on mine in 2010 (july time) and carry out the same procedure. If they want my reg number etc. send me a PM. Why should they complain?
Any warranty work they carry out will be charged to LR, who’ve already taken that into account in the purchase price of your new vehicle. Don’t feel sorry for the dealer who’ll be paid whether by you or by LR, or LR who’d rather send out a faulty vehicle and let it be fixed by the dealer than get it right before leaving the factory. Other than that, opening the bonnet fully (taking care it doesn’t come out the hinges, as mine did last week) allows you to get a better purchase on the reservoir cap, or it’s time for the adjustable spanner or water pump pliers… Peter |

The only way is as bob says water pump pliers.
And then use a large syringe to get the fluid in NEVER TAKE LIFE SERIOUSLY. NOBODY GETS OUT ALIVE ANYWAY |

What I have done before now is use a long screwdriver and tapped it round ..... GENTLY..... it's only plastic. For filling, I get one of those little water/ribeena drinking bottles, the smaller the top the better, cut the bottom out and use it as a funnel, then chuck it in the recycling
