Changing filters
Hi,
I don't have any warranty since I imported used 2009 110 high cap last week from UK. So want to change the air cleaner, oil filter and deisel filter by my self. I used to have a 300tdi it was easy like a peice of cake but afraid to do the same for the newbie.

Is there any perticular steps that have to go through to change them on puma. I have heard that you need to have a hand pump stuff to change the deisel filter???? Confused Confused . Please let me know. Thanks Very Happy Very Happy

Regarding the diesel filter, just fill the new one up with diesel and put it on. Should start first time. Seen the dealer and an independent do it with mine.
Regarding the airfilter. When you change it make sure it fits properly in place and that the airfilter "box" is correctly closed and sealed. Mine was replaced at a service and the airfilter was not replaced correctly and was sticking out through an incorrectly closed airfilter box. I started looking as the engine sounded rough and noisey, probably air intake related. The big issues with a badly closed and ill fitting airfilter "box" is the possibility of water getting into the airfilter and then a disintegrating airfilter sucked into the engine.
The wheel wrench supplied should fit your oil filter housing. Have not done mine but others here have and it is straight forward enough. There are torque settings listed on the site if you want to search for them.
Funny thing, but when the independent from whom I bought the Puma changed my oil filter he used a Britpart one and it leaked a small amount. Brought it back and he changed it for another Britpart one and that leaked too. Brought it back again and made him fit a genuine Land Rover oil filter and had no more leaks. 1982 88" 2.25 diesel

Thank you spudfan. Well described!

Me too thought to buy a britpart kit, may be i will buy a genuine oil filter for that reason!

Today I saw the wire with the socket is fixed on top of the air cleaner box so guess i need to remove it before replacing the air filter? Very Happy

I am not saying that Britpart filters are bad, I am just stating my experiece with them. Regarding the airfilter "box", it does help if you have small hands to work with the wire clips! 1982 88" 2.25 diesel

is the diesel filter hidden under a metal casing on the back of the chassis near the offside back wheel ? I've been looking for it and thats the only place that looks like where it should be Confused

Yep. Do not go mad when you refit and tighten the metal casing. Mine was so tight I needed a pliers to make the retaining nut turn. 1982 88" 2.25 diesel
