Where to find defender canvas "hooks"
Hi,
Pardon my english but I'm looking for the items that hold the canvas in place on a soft top defender (I'm converting a hard top).
I can't figure out the item name in english (or french anyway).
Here is a picture.

Thanks for your help!

Is that not the single part that has never had its part number changed in all of LR's history?

I'm not sure if it is the only such part (I know that legend has it that it is) but I have just checked the 1948 to 1953 parts catalogue and it lists "Retaining plate for hood rope", quantity 6, part number 301328, so yes, the same part number.

In the very early days (prior to chassis number 8666000) this was bolted to the tub with two 2BA x 1/2" screws with spring washers and nuts. After that they were spot-welded.

Thanks for the bit of history
I was thinking about riveting them, do you think it's ok?

Without walking outside into the excessively hot sunshine and checking, I am fairly sure that is how they were fixed on later Defenders. I'm pretty sure those on my 2007 TDCi DC are riveted.

Use sealed rivets, 3/16” diameter. 1988 90 Hard Top, 19J Diesel Turbo, Shire Blue - Restoration ongoing
2012 90 CSW, 2.2TDCI, Santorini Black

They are riveted on my 02 DCPU and a couple of them actually obscure the rivets which fasten the tub capping.

Cheers,

That's QI! My 110 started life as a van and has been converted to canvas before I acquired it in 2014/15. The hooks are riveted on with sealed rivets but I have never got around to painting the bare aluminium hooks....
