Allisport VS PWR
I am looking to upgrade the radiator on my defender.

I found two companies that offer rads at almost the same price..

Allisport and PWR.

I know PWR through my austrailian connection, and they are great quality.

Allisport, i do not know.

What are your thoughts on Allisport?

Allisport are one of the well respected names. You might like to also like to look at the Bell Auto Services Hi-Flow intercooler, which developed specifically for the Defender (not to say Allisport isn't). James

I purchased the Alive Ultimate IC...I am covered there.

I am asking about the Radiators...

PWR has a dealer in UK, but given my location, they are reluctant to do business with me, let alone quote me.

Allisport, posted their product and Ex VAT prices.

I have a great freight guy in the UK, and thought i would just buy it from the UK, vs having it shipped from Australia.

Another case of Allisport welds splitting.

I didn't get a free replacement as I wasn't the original purchaser. Also I did point out it was an intercooler I had so there was no confusion and I presume the same people weld up both products. Ray

I will go through the headache of purchasing the PWR rad.

I am not goin to do all this work, and suffer from a bad quality part.

They arnt bad quality, race teams use their stuff all over the world, not just in Land Rovers. Plus as mentioned if it does fail, free replacement (check with them 100% though)

Given my past experience and location, these types of warrantees dont exist.

I have just fitted the Allisport radiator and intercooler to my 2.2 l 130. The quality is excellent and are a direct replacement for the rubbish original LR parts.

The claimed increase in power is amazing even the techs from the local LR dealer asked if I had had the engine remapped which is has not as it was the most powerful defender they had driven.

What I am now finding out is the equally amazing increase in fuel economy. Other 2.2 owners may find that at best you are getting is 450 km from a tank I am now getting to 350 on half a tank and are getting closer to 600 near enough. I am more than happy with the Allisport product.

Humm,

Also a split weld intercooler from Allisport repaired on site due the cost to send it back to UK. No problem since.
I“m in the same dilemma to buy a new radiator. Probably I will choose Allisport again.

Cheers Eduardo
