Apparently not lost any money - time to sell?
I bought my Defender for £56k. We Buy Any Car (which is the lowest valuation I'd expect) says it's worth £56,250.

I love the Defender but am someone who like to chop and change and my partner is wanting an old-style Defender. Seems stilly to have two Defenders.

I have a work van I use most of the time so, is it time to sell the Defender? Any tips on the best way to sell? LR dealership?

I did an online valuation with an LR group, which didn't go through. However they chased me on the details submitted and offered nearly 4k more than WBAC

"I did an online valuation with an LR group"

Could you expand on this a little, please?

EDIT - Don't worry, figured it out!

If you are asking if you should sell, I would say you don't really want to keep it that much and if you can get as much as you paid then you have had the experience for very little outlay.

However, if you want an old Defender consider where you are and how any clean air zones may affect you.

What ever you decide, good luck 👍

If you want to sell do it now, prices are dropping a bit and with the threat of a recession looming I don’t think the big bucks will be on offer too much longer. Dealers are starting to drop their prices on their used ones. 24MY 90 D250 HSE, Tasman Blue

I noticed that. WBAC - £56k, Lancaster Land Rover - £51k.

Just sold my 1996 TDI300 90 a month ago and kept my 110 D240 First Edition - the 90 was getting less and less use and costing more and more as a result. Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come
2020 D240 1st Edition in Pangea Green with Acorn interior. Now gone - old faithful, no mechanical issues whatsoever ever but the leaks and rattles all over the place won’t be missed!

Agree. LR buyer was telling me about market movements and being short of sales targets. As a result they were having to reduce prices across the board.

I think the winter is going to be harsh

Been offered £56k by a local LR dealer and my husband is set on getting an old Defender. I think my mind is made up. No point in having two Defenders and to have a car for 18 months with zero depreciation is too good to be true (but it is).

It’s a no brainer!

Just enjoy the hunt for the original Defender. Plenty of research and buy the right one the first time. 2008 2.4 110 Utility Station Wagon XS.

I doubt any of us will have any sympathy for dealers who paid silly prices to buy in stock to sell on at ridiculous profit margins and have been left with overpriced cars on their forecourts. Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come
