Did you go to Ardingly?
I thought it wasn't bad for a first attempt and I hope it becomes an annual event Was nice to meet the Sussex Response Group chaps there - they seem a great bunch Although I hail from near Midhurst originally, unless you sort an amazing day's laning then it's probably a bit far for me Cheers Andy 2011 2.4 White 110 CSW LHD 1998 300TDi Wolf TUM 2015 2.2 Corris Grey 90 2009 2.4 Alaska White 110 Commercial - gone 2006 TD5 Barolo Black 90 - gone 1995 TD5 Green 90 - gone 1984 2.25 Marine Blue 88 |

Thanks, yes I did go to Ardingly. Personally felt it was quite disappointing, just not enough to see/going on BUT it certainly has potential. Definitely good to have a dedicated Southern LR show, I hope it's back on next year and grows.
Sadly not up to speed on any lanes around here - maybe someone else can chime in?! |

I was going to go but didn’t see who was exhibiting and the decider was i saw advertised they were planning on having firework displays in the evening which for me was a no no as i wanted to bring the puppy. Was there any fireworks does anyone know? On the plus side its great to see a LR show down here and im hoping this will grow in the coming years and don’t have fireworks as its far easier than heading to Peterborough // sorry I’m not too experienced in the local green landing around these parts.

We did the Ardingly show on the Saturday, it was definitely smaller than I thought it would be, but obviously it's a new show.
We didn't camp but stayed in a pub in Ardingly itself, it was actually quite nice that the show wasnt too busy however I do wonder whether there will be another one, a few hours there was enough to be honest... 2004 Defender 90 Td5 CSW 2002 Discovery 2 td5 GS (gone) 1994 Defender 90 300Tdi CSW (gone) |

Same here with Ardingly, the car park was one of the best bits seeing all the Landies, the rest just too few bits.
£50 felt steep for the wife and kids to come in with the limited amount there but felt we had to support to hopefully get them back next year bigger and better. Happy to look at W.Sussex meet |

I’m with you on that the car park was the best part but you only found that out after paying to enter the show. Won’t be going again, the auto jumble was complete rubbish, I couldn’t work out for the life of me why they would load there lorries up with it just to take most of it home again.😩

Havnt got a Defender anymore but happy to stop by in my D2, there is the Torque Moto Cafe near Horsham?
RH12 4QD The Ardingly show was a disappointment but first show its going to have teething problems, alot down to poor organisation for the trade stands. I went anyway to support it in the hope next year will be better! Nice have a show 10mins from my house rather than 3 hours haha Instagram @defender_ventures Empire Tuning - Agent |

Never been to Torque Moto, could be a decent location as reasonably central and accessible.

Given the lack of BOATs in West Sussex (my understanding is that they were all made restricted byways many years ago and less than 6 miles remain), a group of friends generally use the twice monthly Slindon Safari as an off road meeting place.
Like any pay and play site, it has the full send crowd but they tend to stick to the winch only area - there are a couple of marked courses - one beginner, one intermediate plus plenty of tricky obstacles to use. Makes a great training location for those of us starved of the treats of Wales, Devon, Wiltshire, Yorkshire or Cumbria. Not to everyones taste I realise but it gives me a chance to get off road a couple of times a month |

I forgot about this! Definitely up for organising something in February maybe to give others time to see the thread?
If you are interested please reply and we'll work out when and where. The venue at Horsham looks good, or quite happy to meet at a decent pub somewhere. Goodwood area is always nice although maybe too far west for those in E Sussex etc. |
