That does not look standard to me. What pin does it go to in the black plug?
Could be that a previous owner had a boost box installed. The pin number will help ID it. |

It's a 110 hardtop 3 door, so assume it's redundant as for another model?

Is it my imagination or does that purple wire turn black and white after the red sleeving?!

yes it does - it definitely looks like a add-on of some description.
Will take a look at what pin it goes into on Saturday and post an update |

I had a look at the weekend and tracing the wire back it doesnt go into the ECU, it originates through the same hole in the seatbox that the ECU loom comes through, so looks like it is some old add-on from a previous owner that just poked it through the same hole. Mystery solved (ish)!

Time to get ion your back and trace it along the chassis and then probably in to the dash via another gland in the bulkhead.
It is a thin wire so probably only a signal wire... Rev gauge... Temp gauge perhaps. At least it is not critical... |
