From google
The U0100 code is generic inasmuch as it has the same frame of reference on all vehicles. Somewhere within the CAN bus network (Controller Area Network) an electrical connector, wiring harness, module has failed, or the computer has crashed. The CAN bus allows microcontrollers and modules, as well as other devices communicate independently of a host computer. The CAN bus was designed for the automobile specifically. Symptoms Symptoms of a U0100 DTC code may include. Vehicle stalls and will not crank or restart OBD trouble code U0100 will be set and the check engine light illuminated Vehicle may start after sitting idle for a period of time, however, it would be risky to operate because it could fail again at a most inopportune moment Read more at: http://www.obd-codes.com/u0100 Copyright OBD-Codes.com |

Cheers, we've come to the conclusion that it is the immobiliser. Mech has a Disco 2 in workshops and we've checked the sequence. Mine isn't going through the light sequence properly. Going to take keys to dealer on Monday to recalibrate and see what happens then. But if anyone has an idea how to reset the immobiliser itself, be much appreciated. Monsieur Le Grenadier

I’m not sure what the resolution to the OP’s issue was, however If yours is a 2.4 have a read of this, in particular the bottom of page 7 , the post from Martin, it could be your IPAC and you can see if it is by removing the connector, connecting pins 3 and 4 together and seeing if the engine will then start without the IPAC connected https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic47486...p;start=90.
Else could be an earth issue or ignition switch issue. |

Many Thanks Ianh,
I will switch the this thread/topic and hopefully find a solution there. The problem looks slightly different since mine does not crank (like Grenadier's one). Anyway, the IPAC wiring/connector options sounds easy enough to give it a try in any case. |
