Seatbelt catching on @#$!

Any one made a plan with this yet?

The seatbelt is drawn over the door latch when I exit my landy, and then caught/jammed when I close the door.

Very frustrating!!

Simple solution which I use. Never been caught since I started doing this. Thumbs Up

x eng (or copy) trouser defenders help a bit as the seat belt will catch less

looks like 4RF may have them from his photo

Have you ever ruined a pair of trousers getting in and out of your Defender catching the pocket or belt loop on the door striker?

The X-Trouser is a simple solution. Not only does it protect your trousers, in many cases, but it also makes the door close more reliably and helps (though it does not entirely stop) the seat belt getting caught in the latch. In addition, if the seat belt does become caught as you close the door, it suffers less damage due to the smooth profile of the X-Trouser.

The X-Trouser has a smooth profile, if your belt loop or pocket runs over it, it will slide off freely. It is made from high-quality 304-grade stainless steel, and the X-Trouser catch is reversible to fit both the driver and passenger doors, left & right-hand drive. It will also fit the rear side doors of 110 Station Wagons. DEFENDER 90 TDCI XS,

I hope everyone is well and your land rovers make you happy

Thanks for the pic-solution. I will defenitly try it out. (I do note some scarring on your seat belt maybe from previous excursions?!).

As for the X-trousers.... I possibly needs some XXX's - I'm a big boy.

Thanks again gents.

On my 2012 Defender, the seat belt lower anchor point is in the retracting mechanism bracket itself. This pulls the seat belt webbing further back, but you need to kind of guide the webbing when you unbelt yourself so it does not catch on the seat back and cause the problem mentioned. 1988 90 Hard Top, 19J Diesel Turbo, Shire Blue - Restoration ongoing

Hi, yes my seatbelt is scarred… from the previous owner… it is a common problem.

One of the previous owners of my 110 has clearly valued their trousers, as l have these catches on all four doors.

Mind you, the previous owner used the vehicle for shootin' and launching his boat, so likely the shootin' and fishin' set were clambering in and out.

Last thing you want is your buddy ripping his waders on the rear door catch.
