Same MAF over voltage fault on my 2.2 TDCI
Initially difficult to trace. Turned out to be a large split in my (edited) intercooler that was fitted in 2016. Any farther South and I'll need to trade the Defender in for a Landing Craft Last edited by WhiskyJackR on 20th Feb 2024 6:12pm. Edited 1 time in total |

Like Ian I'd be interested to know where the intercooler split..
I fitted it for the same reason.. It just seemed to be a substantial unit with cast alloy end tanks.. While fitting it the only possible issue I could see was the lack of clearance between the slam panel struts and the intercooler body, if you didn't make the necessary adjustment that could rub on the cooler body.. Mine doesn't have ac.. |

Here’s the photos. Split along the weld line. Actually it may well be an Allisport intercooler. Apologies in advance to if I got that wrong. I’lll have to dig out the old paperwork, it’s been 8 years so no complaints here. It’s going away for welding so hopefully be back up and running soon 👍

Thanks..
As you say, I don't think that's the bas cooler.. As an aside I've got a question for anyone in the know.. You say the fault code is an overvoltage fault , but my understanding of the maf sensor is that the voltage is a stable voltage and it's the switching frequency which indicates the rate of air flow.. Which I'm assuming is what increases with a split in the intercooler.. Ie the frequency not the voltage level.. Just curious🤔 |

Yep, that’s not a BAS intercooler , hope the re welding sorts the issue , that’s quite a big split !
