pull out rear awning or tent for back of Landrover
Hello

Anyone use a pull out awning or tent type set up on the back of a defender?

What options are they?

Thanks

I've recently got an Outdoor Revolution Cayman Air driveaway annexe. It attaches to the side of motorhomes etc but no reason why it couldn't go on the back of a Defender. I'm attaching mine to my Bundutop roof tent. It will have its first outing tomorrow at Billing. There are a few similar types around designed to attach to the back of a van and 4x4s etc.

No experience with but these have been around for a while http://www.caranex.com/

Another option is this https://www.anchorsupplies.com/tents/briti...-tent.html or this https://www.anchorsupplies.com/tents/ex-br...grade.html

My partner has a pull out howling moon awning over the back and side of her 110 - which works very well for her.. It has full sides which turn it into a great cooking area/changing room at the back of the wagon.

And we had a pop up Kyan porch awing which we used on the back of our pervious 110 for several years

Neither are drive away but both have been put to good use and work well for our style of traveling

^ Both of those are the type of thing, and the previous one Caranex H3 (but the website says none in stock and looks to have been last updated in 2020.

The pull out one looks good but guess I would need one roof bar for it to connect to?

Thanks

Hannibal use to do a 1.4m rear awning - self supporting - so no poles to walk into
Sides were also available for them
I have one and its brilliant as a quick shelter from the rain
I don't have any decent pictures of mine but this is the best web picture

I have been trying to find the same solution for years. A quick tent to mount to the back of the truck and easy to drive away from if you are leaving your camp site for a day.

I saw the Carannex at a show and it looked heavy and clumsy and I’m not sure if they are trading any more. Drive away air tents are a good option.

I’m having a poptop conversion in a couple of weeks and still want something to put gear in and drive away from for a day, so I just bought an Oztent. It has an awning connector which fits to the standard track rail that a lot of camper vans use, so I plan to fit one of those to the rear of the truck so I can link it to the tent.

Beauty of an Oztent is it is so quick to set up and very flexible with the add on side panels etc.
