Spare key - Anyone else still waiting for theirs?
After 9 months I'm still waiting for the spare key for my Defender as it was only delivered with one key (due to the chip shortages I was told).

I've asked my dealer what happens if the key I have stops working or I lose it..... he just shrugged his shoulders and said 'no idea'.

He's told me to contact JLR Customer Services to follow it up... but before I do I'd just like to find out if others are also in the same boat.

I’m sure I read somewhere on here someone else has just took delivery and still only has one key. So could be in for a long wait. 24MY 90 D250 HSE, Tasman Blue

I'll grudgingly put up with not having a second key... but what concerns me more is the fact the local dealer has no idea what happens if the one i have is lost or malfunctions.

Without the a working key I'll have a 80k Euro hunk of metal, which may still be nice to look at would be pretty useless for anything else. What happens if this occurs when I'm no where near home and i have to leave the car wherever it may be until the dealer does come up with an answer?! Current: MY22 P400e SE

I still only have one key after 9 months owning my Defender.
Last month I called my dealer and they told me they will get in touch with me when they know more.
No phone call nor email, still waiting. Big Cry 22MY Defender 110 (actual) | 10MY Freelander 2 (history) | 15MY Discovery Sport HSE (history)

Nine months and still waiting? It’s only been a month for me. I have a long way to go for the second key……..

I have the metal blade but fortunately I also have the activity key which actually works pretty well.

I have the metal blade for the spare key, but thats only good for opening the door. I'd thought about buying an activity key in the interim, but they're out of stock too, obviously as they use the same chips as the key fob. Current: MY22 P400e SE

My D250 110 XS has only come with one key. I contacted LRCRC who said that the dealership I purchased through would have to order one for me. I contacted the dealership and they told me that I should contact LRCRC to arrange the second key?

Pretty shabby treatment really….

One key fob also confirmed on mine.

Shabby treatment. Rolling with laughter

Par for the course. Should have seen the Dealer's rushed email to me on Saturday asking for the balance of the monies. When can I have the car then? Hmmm dont know. Pay first and we're try and sort something out....

We picked up our 22MY 110 XS at the end of January and it came with 2 keys, I had made note on the order that of one key was supplied I would only accept the car with a letter from the dealership agreeing they'd supply and code the second key as soon as stock became available. 2014 110 2.2TDCi XS Station wagon

Keys – afraid not 2 fobs – one full fob and one blade, which is what everything is unfortunately coming through with at the moment. The remining fob will be sent on by Land Rover in due course.

So, for those of you like me who were only furnished with one key fob and a spare key blade; what have your dealers told you to do if you lose your only fob or if it stops working for any reason? Because my dealer hasn’t a clue what would happen! Current: MY22 P400e SE

I'm waiting 2 months so far, I've asked that exact question several times at this stage but never get a proper answer. I have the 2nd emergency key just not the fob (which is useless!)
