United Kingdom 2013 Defender 110 Puma 2.2 USW Orkney Grey
2.2 Oil in Cooling System
Last couple of trips out in the Puma, the temp gauge was a little erratic, reading low rather than getting too hot, then at times returning to normal quite quickly.

Checked the oil and water yesterday. Oil level was low (half way down the dipstick), as was the coolant

Topped up the coolant first and then found where the oil has gone Big Cry - Into the cooling system. There's no sign of water in the oil - Oil cap not white/grey with emulsified oil

Immediate thought was Head Gasket or Oil Cooler(Here's hoping for the oil cooler). It's a 2013 2.2, so has the paper element filter, not the later canister type. It has only done 23K

Visual inspection of the oil cooler doesn't reveal any obvious water leaks to explain the coolant loss.

Reading other posts on here though reveal that the fault could well be the oil cooler causing the oil to get into the coolant though?

Could I ask for thoughts, previous experiences/solutions from anyone that's had a similar problem please? 2013 110 Utility
