Performance enhancement on a TD5 : comparisions
It is a loooooong week end ...

I wanted to know the value of different methods to enhance the TD5 performance. The thing is, I don't have a bench, or even a good chronometer.
So the method I chose was to do exactly the same thing at the same place, video recording my speedometer and then measuring the time to go from 70 kph to 100 kph in forth gear. I chose on purpose a long rpm range so 0,1 or 0,2 sec would not really matter over the total time.

Here we go :

1) stock : 7,3 sec
2) EGR removed : 7,3 sec
3) EGR and exhaust pipe removed : 7,2 sec
4) EGR removed and straight pipe fitted : 7,3 sec
5) EGR removed, straight pipe fitted, and double tune box from ReulSport (same as Matzker, Twisted, ...) : 5,8 secs -> A 20% gain !

EGR removed, straight pipe fitted, and double tune box from ReulSport, body lifted off with a scaffold plank tie wrapped to the chassis as a seat.................Oh and a set of flying goggles. Original Member Pie n Pea Club.
