KAHN 18" Rims With Tyres That Wont Rub The Arch! Please
Good Day All

I have a 2004 Defender 110 and currently it has the standard 235 X 85 X 16 Boost alloy and tyres fitted.

I can purchase a set of Kahn Wheels and they are

18X8J with a offset of +13mm

I'm looking for advice of what Tyre might fit this rim that will resemble the Standard Wheel Size and will also result in no rubbing of the arches as well as not compromising the turning circle .

Any help will be appreciated.

Regards

In terms of diameter your current set up is 806mm.
To match that you’ll need to fit 265/65 18 tyres which work out at 802mm dia.

Tyres do vary though. 2002 td5 90 county hardtop

The 'standard' sizes people tend to run are 265/65/18 and 285/60/18.

I think the extra tyre width of the wider size is more to do with how it looks, rather than performace/driving feel etc.

Thanks So Much

But just one more question will the 265/65/18 sit within the standard wheel arches if the rims are 18X8J with a offset of +13mm? and do you think with the wider tyre that they will rub the arches or compromise the Turning circle ?

Thanks for all of your help !

Currently your boosts are +33.
So with 265s and the kahns you’ll have an extra 5mm clearance inside the tyre , but the outside will stick out an extra 35mm.
Either way it should clear ok. In fact it may improve you turning circle if you adjust the bolts.
285s might rub on the arch , but might not .
It’s close. 2002 td5 90 county hardtop

So will the tyre stick out 35mm beyond the wheel arch resulting in a dirty car ?

Apologies for all of the questions

No, they'll stick out 35mm further than your current wheels and tyres. That should still be within the arches though as Boosts/235's and 30mm spacers (only about 5mm difference) are common and still remain so. You may get marginally more dirt on the outside but not significantly so. Darren
