So in the Commercial, the glass is actually still there, but is covered up by plastic trim?

Yes. But it looks like the glass is etched, so removing the plastic won’t be any use.
Just wondering if anyone else has got any further. |

Just had it done. You need to replace the glass which I ordered from Land Rover.
Part numbers below for the privacy glass version. LR132088 LR132089 Each cost £267.83 +vat Looked to be a challenge as they are full of Ariel’s but got them fitted by national windscreens in chesterfield for £144. It took quite a bit of work to get the correct part numbers so thought it was useful to share.

Seems like a total waste of money...On Landrovers part that is. Such a pointless uneconomic exercise stocking and installing different glass that's then covered both inside and out only on Commercials.
Had thought about removing the inside trim panel and the stick on outer panels on Ours but dont think i'll bother now. 3 Landrovers |

Might be something to do with being able to sell it as a commercial vehicle, enabling VAT to be reclaimed and reduced benefit in kind.
Obviously, if you're not running it as a commercial vehicle its a faff. If they were to produce them with normal windows, they might struggle to argue its a van. The likelihood of the VAT man wanting to see your 'van' is quite low but if they did then there could be an issue. ![]() |

Aye, thought about it shortly after posting, Maybe a Stick on Exterior panel and the removable interior trim wouldn't comply with the rules. Could have been worse I guess, It might have been a welded in panel. 3 Landrovers

So the decision was taken to proceed. I tried two glass installers and both wanted a lot of the trim panels removed to give them good access to the glass (they didn't want to do it themselves!)
Took two and a half hours to work out how it all came apart, and another two hours to put it back together again. Have left the bulkhead out to improve visibility further. I think the results were worthwhile. [/img] |

That looks a worthwhile modification. Can you post a picture of the Land Rover from the outside?
