Hello,
After much deliberating about intercoolers trawling through old posts, I've almost chosen the Serck, but I'm still stuck on one question... do I want a off road (9 fin) or a fast road (16 fin version)? Looking at Alive, they only stock the fast road 16 fin, but many other sites seem to stock both... I'm not looking to turn my defender into a lowered road-goer and I use it lightly off road and will eventually get some chunkier wheels etc but I don't intend to be tearing it up through the woods As far as I can tell the 9 fin is more rugged, but ultimately the 16 fin would have better flow rates? I'm leaning towards the road spec Any thoughts or experiences? what are you running? both available here (despite having the same picture - I phoned and asked the difference): https://www.paddockspares.com/land-rover-p...ender.html |

At the moment no modifications, but the original had taken a small impact and is badly deformed on the lowest fin to be honest I'm amazed it is still sealed.
I don't tow anything routinely Plan is to swap this, do egr removal straight middle pipe and then think about mapping up to about 180bhp (stage 2) |

This is not the case, you will notice a difference with a bigger IC. |

I will throw another in to the mix, the Allisport IC is pretty much the same as the Alive IC. It does not matter which one you choose they are all pretty much equivalent.
I have the Allisport and it is excellent on road and off road, cannot fault it after 8 years or so. Fitting a full sized IC without supporting mods you will get a little extra but it will not be running at its optimum is all. As for supporting mods there are many and you can go as far as you want, but a good start is the IC, EGR delete and an ECU remap to make the most of them. My 10p... |
