This topic is about my history with Defenders. Feel free to ask me anything about my vehicles, and my experiences.
I started in 2007 with a high miles (250,000) 1995 portofino red NAS Soft Top. Spent months watching and waiting for it. Finally saw it listed on a website, and pulled the trigger.  Click image to enlarge Flew out to Colorado from the Bay Area in California to pick it up, and drive it home. My suitcase had more tools in it than clothes. Upon picking it up, the first thing I did was go get a fire extinguisher, as I had read that the 3.9 V8 had issues with oil lines bursting a leak that sprayed directly onto the exhaust manifold. The route I had chosen would take me north to I80, and and back to the Bay Area. About 50 miles in, I was having some serious issues keeping it above 45 MPH, pulled over and found that the wind was so strong that I could not even open the doors. The first 100 or so miles were extremely satisfying, as I had never driven a Defender, but always wanted one. The commanding view you have from the cockpit is something that just cannot be replicated. Soren Nelson
