Additional hub seal Salisbury axle
Hi all,

I have been chasing a vibration which I could swear was front axle but turned out to be rear wheel bearings being loose.

Anyway, took it apart last night in the gloom and tightened it and reset the end float to get me to the weekend where I can take it apart properly and regrease and inspect the bearings etc.

To my surprise I found a rubber seal on the outer race, I have not come across this before and can't find any mention of it so wanderd if anyone else had experience?

It seems a good idea as it stops contamination of ep90 into the bearing grease but would have thaught I could at least find a part number.

I have taken a bad photo in the dark which sort of shows it if you squint which might be of use.

Had the same seal arrangement on the back axle of my 200tdi 90, but that was drum brakes. Yours is clearly discs so later than 200tdi and I'm sure the 300tdi Salisbury axle doesn't have that seal (mine doesn't).
What year is your 110?

Sorry Should Have Said, Same 1991 200tdi Salisbury drum braked axle.

Just got the drum removed so when I take the drive flange off it doesn't fill up the drum with ep90 and muck Shocked

Is it the same as the rear (inboard) seal? Running Restoration Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/post323197.html#323197

Doh! Just had a closer look, you are on drum brakes so 200tdi (and I spotted your fan belt picture which made me go back and check).
