I've had this tracker fitted since new (2015). Had a brief problem a few years ago, so took an extended warranty, just in case. I suspect that the problem was at their end as they were upgrading their infrastructure.
The extended warranty expires later this month. £36 for one year, £99 for three. It's not a lot of money but better in my pocket. £349 for new. Has anyone ever had, or heard of, one of these units needing replacing? |

I contacted Global Telemetrics this morning about the chance of an upgrade. They've offered me a good price, but without the lifetime vehicle bit, so I'm going to keep with the old tracker.
They've also sent me registration details for a new website and app. Miles ahead of the old stuff. If you're still on the old site, try contacting lynne.tanner@globaltelemetrics.com to see if she can help. |

I was going to reply just for this
for a new website and app. Seems it's been out a year or so, only way i found out was when getting a new phone i looked at hte poor reviews on the app store about the old app and found the new app... Don't see why a broadcast email couldn't of been sent but never mind. |

I'm just trying to work out which of the new features are compatible with the current tracker.
Temperature alerts, I'm assuming won't work. I've setup a geofence to test. I've asked Global T if the 'service setting' thing is the same as phoning them before a ferry trip. They've offered £399 to upgrade to the newer S5, £499 for the S5+. Both including first year's subs. Annoyingly, they can't honour my existing life of vehicle subscription for a new device. Shame as I liked the new 'driver ID' thing so my Defender would only start if my phone or a special card were nearby. |
