That’s interesting Ian.
I replaced my cartridge recently and it’s definitely a little longer and therefore puts more strain on the Perspex lid when tightened down . This is what I ordered from Opie Oils Mahle Air Filter LX830 (Ford Maverick, Nissan Terrano) https://www.instagram.com/hustynminepark/ |

The filters I listed on the previous page all fit mine.
Re. the water ingress, I have never had a drop in mine, but my RAI has a proper centrifugal precleaner to take care of the that. As far as I know the Mantec RAI has absolutely no water separator since it is designed for the factory airbox. Therefore if fitted with a Nugget filter you will inevitably get wetness. Fit a decent precleaner and your problems will evaporate. |

Thanks Blackwolf. A pre-cleaning snorkel is on my list now
I did use your list as a reference to order the filters but I just seem to have bad luck with whatever arrives. I'm hoping someone has a source of filter they have ordered from before and know 100% will fit🤞🤞🤞 I guess the old OEM box was so leaky that although water kept getting in it could also get out! |

The OEM filter box has a centrifugal water separator and drain ports, although many people remove them ("the airbox mod") without understanding why they're there or in the quest for improved performance.

Mine OEM box was cracked all the way down the rear side and at the two lid corners under the wing where Land Rover had 'expertly' serviced it in the first couple of years of ownership.
Hoping I can work out the water and filter issues with this one. Certainly much high quality construction |

If you look closely at the picture of the nugget stuff replacement filter you will see a Wesfil sticker on it.
https://www.4x4overlander.com/product/nugg...gJq4_D_BwE So I believe the one nugget stuff supply is a Wesfil WA830 or A1203. Looking online I can’t see a uk supplier for wesfil, but will keep searching. |

Good spot!
I've had a look around as well but can only find this in Australia. I'll keep looking 👀 |

This is what turned up from In-line Filters today. I purchased their in-house brand product, but they've supplied an Alco MD-106. This is what In-Line say cross references to the part number engraved on the Nugget lid. However, the Alco website suggests a different one with a rubber gasket around the top (MD-652).
I'll hopefully try it in at some point this week if it ever stops raining. Any thoughts on if it looks suitable? Should it have a ruberer gasket on the end for sealing? I can't remember what the supplied Nugget one is like. Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS |

I had a similar problem. The filter I ordered arrived without the gasket ring and was therefore too short.
I heated up the old filter with a heat gun and peeled the gasket off, stuck it to the top of the new one and it fits. It would be amazing if someone could find a filter that just fits out of the box |

If this one looks good, but is just lacking the rubber seal, I'll order an Alco MD-652 or Mahle LX-830 to try which I believe is the same filter but with the rubber gasket on top. It adds 7mm to the height according to the manufacturer.
I wonder if there is a dimensional problem with your airbox Jim? 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS |

It'll be interesting to see if the filters you receive fit properly. When I ordered the Mahle LX-830 I had to remove the hard rubber gasket to get it to fit as it was too tall.
I don't think there is a dimensional problem with the airbox as the original 'Nugget' filter it came with fitted perfectly. I've just not found another filter with the same height. Every filter i've ordered (i've ordered 4) has a different height, some with gaskets some without. They all had the same part number. I'm just hoping to find one that fits and then order a load of them to sit in the garage until needed. If you order the Alco MD-652 please let me know if it fits |

I've spent a bit of time looking at this and compiled a list of the published dimensions of various filters offered by UK suppliers. As you can see none of them are an exact match for the Wesfil WA830 which we think is the one supplied with the kit. The Mahle is shown to be a full 5mm taller, which would explain the difficulty getting the lid on.
It's a shame the Alco MD-762 isn't available as that's more or less spot on. The nearest one that might be worth trying next is the Alco MD-7476 (if you can locate one), it's a bit smaller on the ID though, but not much. What this has highlighted is that filter cross-reference information is not to be trusted as they often reference filters that deviate in one or more dimension. If anyone has any other options to add, let me know. I'll keep looking. Click image to enlarge 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS |
