New tyre question
The tyres on the 90 TD5 I’ve bought are OK tread wise but are over 10 years old (BFG all terrains) and think they are responsible for the noise and slight vibration at 55mph +. They’re also cracking a bit. I’m going to keep the standard 16 inch boost alloys but what tyres would people recommend for vast majority road usage and don’t create rumbling noise? Also, what width would be nice on these alloys to make it look a bit wider please?

What size are on there now? They look narrower than 235/85 which is what’s normally on Boosts. Without any trouble you can fit 235/85 R16 and 265/75 R16. There’s tonnes of choice but for a road biased tyre I’d be looking at something like Michelin Latitude Cross. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

I’ll have to check in the morning (I should know!) They do look quite narrow… OK - thank you. I’ll need to look more into what the sizes mean as not 100%. Oh ok, I’ve only heard of people having bfg’s or coopers mainly 👍

The BFGs look cool but are expensive and overkill if it’s a road truck. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

265/75 will be a perfect swap. Roughly the same diameter but a bit wider. 2002 td5 90 county hardtop
