Before you collapse laughing, this is a work in progress. It needs painting and screwed in place. It is to add some extra storage space to my daughter's 90. It sits in front of the bulk head. It is being made from an aluminium gutter that came down in the wind and got twisted. This is additional space to that behind the seats. The rear seat will still fold down. I will cover the top edge with heavy tape to keep it safe. It will be fitted slightly above the floor to allow the mat to be removed and refitted. Like I say a work in progress..

You could pay a tidy sum for "new" items with pre-installed patina to match the vehicle's.

Good for you spudfan
I'd be tempted to add a top safety edge rather than tape... (if I get your meaning right) easy to do with a straight edge and a hammer... check out 'Metal Mondays #1 How to roll an edge' on the Youtube You don't have to master a true rolled edge you can just fold it over or if you're feeling 'ambitious' fold over a wire insert to gain a thicker top edge... just a thought All possibly adding to the 'crafted aesthetic'... Good luck... SKIP https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic83242.html |
