There’s a chap called Cameron Glickenhaus, wth more than a few quid, who is in the process of launching his own supercar. He also built a modern interpretation of the Ferrari P4 sports prototype. His latest project is an off-roader based on a buggy Steve McQueen had. The interesting part is they seem to be planning an expedition version. No doubt it will be mega expensive but interesting nonetheless. Facebook post here. The comments mention the expedition version.

It's an interesting challenge but the hard part has already been done in a Land Rover ten years ago

"The record for driving to the highest altitude by car is 6,688 m (21,942 ft) achieved by Gonzalo Bravo and Eduardo Canales (both Chile) with a 1986 modified Suzuki Samurai on the slopes of the Ojos Del Salado volcano, Atacama, Chile on 21 April 2007." http://www.guinnessworldrecords.com/world-...ude-by-car |

Forget the new Def, my lottery win is going on this. Or maybe I’ll wait for the 4 door version.

Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus (@Glickenhaus) Tweeted:
Glickenhaus Boot won the @SCOREintl Baja 1000 beat the Ford Factory Bronco by 220 miles. The Boot ran the whole race, the Bronco didn’t make it 600 miles. Thank you to our entire team, Darren Skilton, and everyone at SCORE and Armada Engineering. An epic first off-road race. https://t.co/mL60gnRX2W https://twitter.com/Glickenhaus/status/1199070542105473024?s=20 ![]() Click image to enlarge |

Their version of the new Defender jump seat... or is it just a baby seat?

It's looking a tremendous machine, especially when the 4 door surfaces, but where could I go with one, living in the UK, to actually have fun with it? Nearest place I can think of is North Africa. Seems to have a bit of the character of the old Lambo LM003 to me. I bet the wealthy folk in the Middle East will be queuing out the door to get one for desert hooning. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

I think you're very right there, not expecting many to turn up at the local pay & play site.
