Mudflap bracket to crossmember bolt size?
Hi folks.

I've just come to refit my rear factory mudflaps and have lost the fasteners. So may as well fit stainless.

The part number for the bolts (FS106167L) corresponds to a M6 * 16mm flanged hex screw which I have found in stainless - these attached with a standard washer and a spring washer which I also have in A2 M6. But noticed that YRM and others supply 20 or 25mm fasteners with their brackets.

Any reason to think that 16mm would be too short (eg: parts catalogue error)? or if its an open rivnut in the crossmember, an harm in upping to 20mm to be certain?

Thank you.

Nope no reason why increasing the thread length by 4mm would have any negative effect. As far as YRM etal are concerned 20 and 25mm thread lengths are just easier to supply and no-one is ever going to complain about having too much thread, but folks will be severely irritated if they find the bolts are 4mm too short Wink

Whatever you choose just make sure you anti-seize the threads Thumbs Up
