Haven’t got a photo of mine but I dislike the modern look of many of the wheels, and their silly high prices. So I went with a classic looking Motolita wheel.
I’d advise to look for wheels that will fit with a quick release boss, to give you the added security as you will have to buy a boss anyway. My wheel and boss came from Mudstuff. |

This was the well i planned on fitting to my rover metro years ago, with a remover able boss, But the idea never came about. Anyway with the 300 been taken, i beefed up the security which was what i had planned for the 300.
I bought the remover able boss and bought this wheel. Its not your racing type wheel, and its a lot smaller the defender wheel, but it has a modernish look, Something from the 90s to the 00s which i think goes well. ![]() Click image to enlarge a little bit bling on the clocks, ![]() ![]() Click image to enlarge ![]() Click image to enlarge Only something daft like £30 Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back In the words of my Good Friend, Gary Forrest 1980 -2025 " we will work something out" |

I went for the simple understated look of a Momo Prototipo in black with Optimill boss & swivel lock.
I definitely agree with avoiding cack & bling, but then I do like to keep my defender looking as standard as possible. |

That’s the kind of thing I’ve got in mind. QR boss - for anyone who’s had one in place for an age, over time do they develop any movement or anything of the sort? |

I've got a Moto Lita on the Optimil boss from Mud, one of the best single modifications I ever made to the truck.
Theres 0 play in it, and the added security is a bonus, although I do need to get the swiel lock at some point too. |

No movement at all if anything they are a bit “tight” I can also say that they take up the same room as the standard boss. |

Mine came with a 15" Motolita but in polished steel and flat as opposed to dished. I fitted an Optimill QR and combined with the swivel boss all helps to provide reassurance. Well engineered and no play whatsoever. I notified the insurance company and they were happy.
