Hello The Whippet
We're in, and also happy to follow the consensus for the location, maybe we aim for a new venue each meet up and return to the 'stand outs' or those that draw a good turn out... I'll put my vote, this time for Blackbushe Airport. A few historic points... RAF Airfield from 1941 – 1945 / Civilian use 1946 > Bob Dylan concert held in 1978 Owned by British Car Auctions from 1985 – 2015 Pit lane scenes of the film Rush (Hunt Vs Lauda) filmed in 2012 Owned by Private Investors 2015 > Osama Bin Laden's family members killed in private plane crash in 2015 Pathfinder Café looks 'basic' but OK... https://www.blackbusheairport.co.uk/cafe SKIP https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic83242.html |

The Blackbushe cafe used to be good, no idea what it's like now but I'll consult the events department vis-a-vis availability.

Another important historical event of note is that I ragged my JCW mini around the car park big time once, about 8 years ago..... Oh woe, oh woe My crusty old landrover, It will not go. |

Hello Mother superior
OK I see your 'car park antics' and raise you... Learning to drive at 15 using the runway 'after hours' . Spending the better part of my 16th year on a moto-cross bike around the then go-cart track but my fondest memories were learning to renovate cars with a local legendary panel beater and sprayer called 'marvellous mac', who worked out of one of the old hangers, in time, out side school hours, I picked up a few skills that have served me well, I even got to paint a section of Spitfire (No. EE606) held there by a local builder / developer, Charles Church who unfortunately was killed when it crashed in 1989. Blackbushe was a kind of motorised playground growing up, would probably never happen now. SKIP https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic83242.html |

Just had a look at the diary and we are travelling back from Portsmouth that day so probably won't make it although I might pop my head around the corner if I'm about. Steve is still going though Wes Oh woe, oh woe My crusty old landrover, It will not go. |

Morning all, the majority of those who have confirmed that they will be able to meet have said that they would prefer Blackbushe, so Blackbushe it is.......I can not book a table so we will have to try our luck, shall we go 12.30 - 12.45?
Look forward to seeing everyone there Dave |
