On mine I used a small adaptor bracket to mount the 13pin socket, some people have mounted them in the rear x-member
Because of the tow height I use a slider to drop the ball slightly in compariso the the fixed NAS settings Click image to enlarge |

The brackets with the cable ties through are intended for flat plates that are shaped and drilled to mount the towing sockets on. A far better location though, particularly if you're going the 12 pin socket route, is within the hole in the rear crossmember. It's a bit more of a faff to do as you need to drill holes for the socket and install rivnuts, but it's a much more protected location.

Thank you for your replies.
For the sake of ease I will opt for the Rimmer Bros solution as it’s easy (and it’s on a nearly 20 year old landy!) |

NRC8048 needs the centre hole drilling out larger with a step drill otherwise the wires from the socket can chafe through, especially if using the genuine Land Rover socket.
You will also have to dismantle the multi plug and feed the wires through the hole, then reassemble the multi plug. It is however a neat solution and how I have always fitted a 7 pin socket to a NAS step. |
