Fitting IC without touching AC
I've taken delivery of a late xmas present in the form of an uprated intercooler and I'm keen to fit it myself. However, I've read that the aircon system (which my car has) must first be depressurised. I don't want to mess around with the AC and wandered if anyone has fitted an IC without doing so. Many thanks

On a TD5 Defender anyway, makes it a easier but you dont have to. Just requires a lot of wiggling aroud to fit it in. Especially with the hoses.

Makes it easier to move the rad back as well so its all loose, you can also move the AC rad around to get more space just be careful. Instagram @defender_ventures

I don't know which model you have,

but on the TDCI Puma's you can change the intercooler without touching the aircon. Mine was done earlier this year, and it looked fairly straightforward.

I've done it twice. It's tight but will go with enough perseverance and wiggling.

Remember to cut the plastic lugs or you'll be there forever - ask me how I know... https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic67250.html > 110 XS Double Cab
