Identifying 2.4 timing chain from photos
Posting for a friend, if anyone has done a timing chain replacement, are you able to advise from the pictures below if these are correct for the 2.4?
Reason for asking, local dealer is asking €500 parts only for a timing chain kit. The kit in the pics are being sold for a fraction of that price, and fomoco as per wrapping on the chain sounds genuine to me.
Seller is selling them as Ford Transit MK7 OR Peugeot Boxer Timing CHain Kit
TIA

I've just dug the old gears etc out of the 'it might be useful one day' scrap bucket and they all look spot on.

Don't forget the timing kit / tools - they were useful and the new timing chain cover and seal

AND the three big crankshaft bolts that don't seem to be included in any kit

Hello Keith, thank you for taking your time to check and reply, much appreciated.

Yeah, I read that taking the cover out is difficult and prone to damaging it. Although I was hoping I can do that for him by using a putty knife, perhaps with sharpened edge.
As for the timing tool, I saw this video where he manages to sort it out with drill bits of the correct size(its a duplex chain engine, but hoping it would be similar. I have used that trick many times on VW engines, but never on a Ford.

And came across a video from forum member Nigel Thumbs Up

Can also see the timing chain kit there Thumbs Up In the picture I attached, there is a sprocket with a something attached to it. Does seem to be a bit large for the crank.
