As a teenager I was an avid watcher of Scrapheap Challenge and A 4x4 is Born.
On 4x4 is born they followed a team competing in the jungle or something. I seem to remember a bobtail range rover and burning a leach off with a cig. Anybody recall who that was? Possibly named Simon > 110 XS Double Cab |

Blackwolf... Correct, but the part I refer to were short five minute features each episode that followed a team competing in the jungle

There seem to be quite a few Malaysian Rainforest Challenge vids on YouTube. It looks an epic event.

I really liked the 'Is Born' series. They haven't repeated them recently but a few years back they were on repeat quite regularly.
I like Mark Evans as a presenter. I liked the banter in some of the series between him and the Producer 'Phil Mate' Phil Bashall was involved in the 4x4 is born programmes giving historical and factual information. Pity there isn't more stuff like this on the telly now. I am getting quite bored with Wheeler Dealers and Car SOS has gone a bit slap stick. Would much rather see the engineering than the messing around. |

February 2017 Mark Evans shared a 'teaser' picture on social media of what looks like an E type Jag with a comment alluding to a new 'is born' series coming soon.
I guess covid put the stoppers on filming - hopefully they postponed the build until filming could resume! I watched some old scrapheap challenge episodes on youtube over the lockdown. Great viewing and some brilliant 'personalities' - "just kept thinking they'd never get away with this now". Shame > 110 XS Double Cab |

Hi did 'A Car is Reborn' where they restored an E-Type years back. He did an inside Jaguar program though which was all about Jaguar heritage building some brand new lightweight e-types which was interesting even if the cars were pointless.
I used to enjoy his programmes too, the wreck rescue series was quite good too although I am sure some bits were staged or over dramatised. 02' 110 TD5 Double Cab Rebuild Thread |

You cannot beat Mark evans, I seen very recently on his face book page, that he is over hauling the 100 inch, picture of him refurbing the tank. So he must be throwing in some upgrades, by the looks of it. Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back
