US Army’s new Infantry Squad Vehicle (ISV)
Looks quite good and with Ricardo involved might it come to the UK, albeit, in small volumes?

I always struggle with the numbers around the contract value and number of vehicles. This contract is to "build, field and sustain" ~ taking a 10 year life for each vehicle, it would equate to a PCH payment of $2,751 per month. 🤔

Not gonna lie, that looks dead handy, Just needs a 50 on a parapet and a gimpy up front.

Duramax engine is an interesting choice, i would have gone for a 6.0L cummings or something.

$2,751 per month. is pretty reasonable, considering something like that with all the R&D would cost something like £400,000 a unit (based on jackal costs).

I think that must be the track rod since it appears to hav a hex adjuster on it, which I imagine would unscrew very rapidly if you used it as a drive shaft! Laughing It also looks as though it has a 2" receiver at about chest height on the back, although the height might be due to a dwarf photographer.

It does look as though it was designed by someone who graduated from Landrover's weatherproofing school! Fun on a hot day, but grim most of the rest of the time.

I'm sure also that some of these designers must be Mad Max fans!

So presumably the weight is less than 2.1/4 tons. The Chevy Colorado seems to start at around 4000 lbs, so it is tempting to think that the Madmaxmobile is lighter given that so much is missing. I image that the bits that are present are beefed up though, so the difference may not be great.

Just think, if Landrover had built the Nude Offender (say it and you'll understand) on a proper chassis, they could have made a vehicle like this. I am not sure that the 85 ECUs would cope with this level of exposure!

Searching around for the weight of the Madmaxmobile I sumbled across the picture below. I think I want one!

This is the Jeep Gladiator XMT or Extreme Military-Grade Truck, which seems to be a Gladiator with extra testosterone.

This thing doesn't look to offer much more protection than the Wolf Land Rovers that caused so much embarrassment for us a few years ago. Different countries forces, but I thought the days of unarmoured civvie based battlefield transport were gone. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

WMIK was designed to be light and fast in fast out air portable.

we bolted loads of stuff to it, like ballistic matting, under armour etc etc and started using it outside its design role which was based around shoot and scoot then wondered why it didnt perform! and kept snapping chassis! Cheers
